4-Week Structured Study Schedule

Week 1: Measurement & Assessment (Domains A & B)28% of Exam

Drill continuous measurement (rate, frequency, duration, latency, IRT) vs. discontinuous measurement (partial-interval, whole-interval, momentary time sampling). Master preference assessments (paired stimulus vs. MSWO).

Week 2: Skill Acquisition & Reinforcement (Domain C)25% of Exam

Focus heavily on prompt fading hierarchies (most-to-least vs least-to-most), task analyzed chaining (forward vs backward), DTT trial components, and natural environment teaching (NET).

Week 3: Behavior Reduction & Extinction (Domain D)19% of Exam

Learn the 4 functions of behavior (Sensory, Escape, Attention, Tangible). Discriminate between DRA and DRO. Understand how to manage extinction bursts and implement antecedent strategies.

Week 4: Documentation, Ethics & Mock Simulations (Domains E & F)28% of Exam

Master objective session notes and the RBT Ethics Code (multiple relationships, gift acceptance rules, supervision requirements). Take two full-length 85-question timed mock exams.

Exam Day Pacing: The 63-Second Rule

The RBT exam gives you 90 minutes for 85 questions (~63 seconds per question). If you spend more than 90 seconds on a question, flag it and move on. Many candidates fail simply by running out of time on the last 15 questions.
